So when they asked if we'd like to partner on another new project? Of course. The Double Barrel Davis Rum starts out as Mad River's Demerara Rum, aged in ex-bourbon casks. But this cask was finished in a barrel that had previously held Davis Family Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a rich and complex rum with sensual caramel and spice flavors and grace notes of red berry fruit. You certainly COULD make cocktails with this. But it's more properly enjoyed as a sipping rum, even a whiskey drinker's rum. And we are the only spot in Massachusetts lucky enough to sell this fascinating spirit.
