This wine is both barrel-fermented and barrel aged. While barrel aging is the norm for California Cabernet, barrel fermentation is very much NOT. Think about it: red wines are fermented on the skins. In a barrel, that’s just a mess. But winemaker Linda Trotta likes the practice, believing it adds subtle notes of tobacco, cedar, and smoke to the wine.

Aromas and flavors of black plum, cassis, cigar box, menthol, sweet vanilla, and buttered toast. Full-bodied with a round texture. Sweet, well-integrated tannins. Classic Napa style.
