Dolceacqua is a tiny, tiny Italian wine region. They really don’t make that much wine, and what is made rarely makes it to the US. But I love, love, LOVE these wines. I had been looking for a wine from Dolceacqua for over 5 years, when I finally found one right here in Franklin, from Vine Farmer Wines!

From perilously steep and stony slopes perched above the sea near the French-Italian border, E. Prie’s Rossese di Dolceacqua is much more than the usual easy-drinking, light, fruity red. It’s equal parts power and grace, sinew and satin. Deep and rich, with bright red fruit, subtle spices, and a stony, mineral-rich finish, this is literally THE perfect wine to pair with cheese and charcuterie.
