'They look too exciting for so early in the evening'.
Saturday morning’s snow was the last straw.
Seriously? On April 18, we get a freak snowstorm? After the continually horrifying coronavirus news, after the quarantine, after all the cancellations, after the shortages of food, paper towels, and toilet paper.
After people behaving…poorly. (And other people behaving wonderfully-I’m talking about you, Liz Smith, plus Kim Towers, Linda Kelleher, and the countless people who called offering paper towels. We are incredibly lucky to know each and every one of you!) After getting run down by a too-large dog walked by a too-small child. After a week+ in a sling-ugh! After relentlessly cold rain. The snow was my official breaking point. Basta! Enough of this.
So the current situation has dealt us some challenges. So what? We’re better than all that, and we’ve chosen to respond accordingly: let’s have some fun! Anybody up for some fun?
First up, Pennywise. Apparently, *many people* have drunk up their stock from the last Pennywise! Sale. No worries- we’ll just have another one I’ve found some great deals to tempt you; we’ll have them up on the website by Friday morning, and the sale will run through end of day Sunday.
Then, let’s do some Zoom-ing. Simon Baitian, known hereabouts as ‘the Candy Man’, has teamed up with our friend Manny Gonzalez to present the wonders of Spain. We’ll feature 6 different wines, available for purchase and pickup before the ‘tasting’ on Thursday, April 30. Purchase any 2 bottles and we’ll give you a code to join the party. We may be remote, but we can still taste and enjoy wine together. We will-of course- offer great discounts on all these tasty wines.
Lastly, it isn’t looking good for an in-person Drink Pink, either. But that is definitely not stopping us from holding this VERY IMPORTANT annual cancer care fundraiser. We’re taking it online, with plenty of delicious pink wines, plenty of other beverages for those folks who think they don’t like pink, and a brand-new adult sippy cup ‘ticket’. Stay tuned!
This isn’t a great time, but we do have some control over how we ride it out. We’re choosing fun, education, fundraising, and deliciousness. Join us?
