Robert Sinskey Vineyards is a second-generation, family-owned and operated estate vineyard and winery. Every grape that is put into one of their wines was planted, grown, and harvested by RSV. Every vineyard is also certified organic. RSV’s number one concern has always been and will always be farming practices. They believe above all else that you can’t make great wine with anything less than great fruit. In the cellar the philosophy is all about minimal intervention. Jeff Virnig has been the winemaker for over 25 years. Jeff believes that wines are to be balanced above all else and show finesse and elegance. This pinot noir shows flavors of perfectly ripened raspberries, bing cherry, and a hint of rhubarb. The first taste unravels a wine reminiscent of the Old-World pinots of Burgundy that are made to drink with food. It is also balanced by a New-World preciseness that highlights the impeccable red fruit. Pomegranate and blood orange flavors add bounce to an already bright and juicy mid-palate that guides the drinker through balanced, supple-tannins to a long, drawn-out finish.
