Dr Loosen Fischerei Spatlese Trocken

This wine is produced in Germany's Mosel River Valley, but sold only in Massachusetts, thanks to an unusual set of circumstances involving a temporary cash-flow problem and a MA distributor helping a friend while also looking out for his own best interests. Blazing red and insanely steep, the Ürziger Würzgarten (spice garden of Urzig) vineyard fills the picturesque amphitheater formed by a dramatic bend in the Mosel river. Within the Wurzgarten, the tiny Fischerei parcel is the best of the best. It produces wines with exotic, spicy aromas that are bursting with tropical fruit flavors. But-and this is a really important 'but': this particular version is dry. Dry. Trocken means dry, but just in case, they've also emblazoned the word 'dry' in a separate little circle. Many people believe that all Riesling is sweet, so extraordinary measures are necessary. Drinking this wine is like biting into a perfectly ripe nectarine, but less sweet. Grace notes of apple, orange blossom and fresh, zesty mineral round out the palate. It sings. Honestly, it plays its own symphony. If you already love Riesling, this is absolutely your jam. If you're a Riesling denier, this wine will rock your world.
