This Week’s Monday Madness
Classics. Whether we’re taking books (Pride and Prejudice, The Catcher in the Rye), movies (Citizen Kane, Singin’ in the Rain), or cocktails (Martini, Manhattan, Old-Fashioned), there are some selections that have stood the test of time. They’re not the flavor of the moment, they’re the flavor of EVERY moment. And wine is no different. Example: Bordeaux.
Bordeaux is a classic for a reason. From the Great Growths on down to the Petits Chateaux, the blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and friends grown on Bordeaux’s gravel and clay soils equals more than the sum of its parts. It’s silky, expressive. Complex. Classy.
It can also be pricy. But right now, with restaurants still down for the count, there are some ‘opportunities’ available.
Ch Lamartine is a great little petite chateau from the Cotes de Bordeaux, growing a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Heavy clay soils retain moisture even in warm years, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally. Underlying gravel lends mineral nuances. And this beauty has already been cellared for you-it’s mature and ready to drink tonight! Silky and smooth, with full flavors of plum and cassis, plus a hint of smoke and herbs, this wine practically begs for lamb chops. But a steak wouldn’t be remiss, either.
The only thing you don’t want is to miss out on this deal. Because when it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
Online special available for in-store pickup after 12 PM Monday. Available until Sunday, June 7, or until product runs out.
who we are
Connecting Good Friends with Great Wine
The idea that became Pour Richard’s was born of many late nights drinking wine with old friends. At least half of every couple worked in wine sales. Sooner or later, after a couple of great bottles, we’d start talking about how we never got to sell our favorite wines. Many of the best bottles in our respective warehouses never saw the light of day because we were all way too busy fulfilling our quotas on the big national brands. Small family vineyards, fun new regions? Those mostly sat there until we closed them out. “Wouldn’t it be great”, we all said, “if we could sell the things we drink?” So, that’s exactly what we’re doing! At Pour Richard’s, you’ll drink like an industry insider – a well-edited selection of wine, beer, and spirits, all at great values.
